Boca Salon gets visit from ‘Jerseylicious’ Star

In the attempt to achieve Jennifer Aniston’s long, silky strands or Kim Kardashian’s subtle waves of hair, women will often subject themselves to a myriad of daily abuse from scorching flat irons and hair follicle-mutilating chemical straighteners. But there’s a local hair salon that hopes to change the way women treat their hair.

Donna Pascoe Salon in Boca Raton caught a slice of reality TV fame recently when “Jerseylicious” star Gayle Giacomo popped in for a visit. Giacomo came to the salon to get familiar with a new technique of applying hair extensions from Pascoe and business owner Marie Bernard.

“Brazilian straightening treatments can’t really repair hair but, by adding the extensions, you have luxurious hair in under an hour,” said Bernard, who owns the Boca-based All About Extensions, a revolutionary brand of hair extensions and an application method that leaves hair looking instantly healthier. “There’s no glue or damage. The extensions are placed on hair using a tiny bead. It’s the only hair extension that doesn’t have to come off. We have a custom line and stock a line of extensions to match each client’s hair color and texture.”

Pascoe is a diehard fan of “Jerseylicious,” a reality show on the Style Network that centers on the drama of Giacomo’s Gatsby Salon in Green Brook, N.J. Pascoe was watching the show with her daughter one night and thought Giacomo would be a perfect candidate for the hair extensions. “We banned Brazilian treatments at my salon because it makes you sick,” said Pascoe, who carries her own line of hair care products. “We have old-fashioned conditioning, straightening treatments and use organic hair color. My daughter went online to find Gayle and then Maria and I went up to New Jersey to do her hair. Then she liked it so much she came to Boca. Gayle and I will work on a lot of projects together to heal hair and make it better.”

Giacomo was delighted with the look and feel of her new extensions, which are available at Donna Pascoe Salon. I caught up with the TV star while her hair was being washed in the back of the salon. “I love these hair extensions because they have a natural wave and I get the volume I wanted,” Giacomo said. “You don’t have to blow them out. I typically wash my hair every third day and they just keep looking great.”
